The Municipality of Castagneto Carducci lies on the border with the Higher Maremma area, close to the Etruscan coast.
It is a pristine land of preserved nature, works of art, genuine products and good food with small shops selling ancient tastes. Here hospitality and tradition are a must.
The beauty of the countryside in Castagneto Carducci, the natural harmony, the castles, towers and scattered boroughs make it a fascinating place to discover. Poems and books can testify how people have been attracted by the balance between the natural setting and development of the territory, where the human dimension is a priority. All these aspects make it a successful landscape.
In Castagneto Carducci it is never too hot in the Summer and ideal in Autumn and Spring. Temperature drops seldom exceed 10°C. The thermometer rarely goes lower than 5°C in the Winter. These are the pleasant aspects of the mild climate you can find on the Etruscan Coast. Here you can enjoy wonderful natural sceneries such as the olive groves that are thousands of years old in the countryside just behind the Viale dei Cipressi, the road that leads you from San Guido to Bolgheri.
It is a land of rounded hills, bright panoramas with beautiful colours shading off into each other, from ochre to green and then blue. The landscape of Castagneto Carducci and its neighbourhood has shaped itself over the years according to the love that its people have for their territory and it has become a place of extraordinary and fascinating beauty.

When visiting the cellars on the Wine and Oil Routes you will find tasty red wines, with a rich character and unique personality, as well as fresh whites and intensely perfumed “passito” wines (strong sweet wines made from raisins).
You will find wines that are born in that territory and you can match these flavours with the food of our land and with our typical and genuine products: extravirgin olive oil, honey and other bee products, fresh bread baked in the wood-fired oven, cheeses, salamis, jams and marmelades.
The Wine Route on the Etruscan Coast welcomes you to a land of gentle hills, sea and ancient boroughs where the Sassicaia wine was born. This wine is one of the best in the world and has become the symbol of the Tuscan Coast.
Some of the most important wine cellars can be visited on request. Please go to the “BOOK” page to reserve your visit in advance.
